About Rebecca

Welcome!  I am an attorney and journalist and I live on Long Island (a reluctant suburbanite after a decade of parenting on the Upper West Side of Manhattan) with my three daughters (twins plus one) and my stay-at-home husband.  He keeps the house in order with help from Fozzie, our lhasa apso.  I write here about various topics from the issues I face as a conflicted working mother with a stay-at-home husband to parenting issues to political issues to health issues – a mix of personal and journalistic articles that appear only here or also in various other publications.

During the day, I am the Managing Editor of The Law Report Group, which includes The FCPA Report (about anti-corruption laws around the world), The Cybersecurity Law Report (about data protection and data privacy) and The Hedge Fund Law Report (about hedge fund law regulation). They are each online subscription legal services containing analysis and insight about the legal issues facing businesses in each area.  Our subscription base include major multi-national companies, law firms and hedge funds. We are now part of the Mergermarket Group.

Before that, I was a litigator at a large law firm in Manhattan, representing clients across a range of industries in federal and state cases and arbitrations, and before that, a broadcast journalist at local news stations.

I received my undergraduate degree from Harvard University in government where I was the Editor-in-Chief of the Harvard Independent (before it had a functioning website).  I received my law degree from Columbia University.  I grew up on Long Island with my 5 younger siblings, where we spent a lot of time at ice skating rinks.
